i think that boys at first are harder but as they get older they are easier than girls are. though i've never raised a girl, but have heard a lot from mothers who have girls. what do you think?

Having worked in a day care, little boys are way harder than little girls. But when they get older 10-12 boys are easier and more helpful, the girls start to get moody about that time.

thats a great encouragement for those of us who are parenting young boys, right now it's hard but it wont be as they get older!

I agree I have three boys and 1 girl . As a baby she was easy and but now is a 6 year old going on 16. My boys were harder when babies and toddlers but now a dream to look after.

yeah i agree sarah, my sons were very colic too and very hyper now. but it's true that it depends on the child. though almost every girl responds to puberty the same way lol.

i've been told the same thing plenty of times. boys are hard work as babies ..
but once they grow up its usually girls that tend to be harder work .. i can see were people are coming from .. girls tend to have a bit of bitchy streak in their teenage years .. and i can see that my 19year old sister is absolute hard work for my mum at times!!
my younger brothers are more laid back .. though they were hard work when they were younger they have toned down a lot since they've grown up .. so in a way i can see that being slighty true but then again depends on the child .. my son can be hard work at times .. he was a bit colicy and refluxy .. my mum said we were never like that .. and now his a mischievious little 14 and a half month old

When I think ahead, I would assume (from my own teenager-hood) that boys may be easier emotionally than girls, that hopefully their hormones dont affect them the same way that they do to girls. I'll have to talk to my husband about his experiences. He also had an older sister to compare to as I have a younger sister and no brothers to compare to. Boys (I think) have more energy and are more rammy than girls as infants/toddlers, but energy wise, I have some friends with toddler aged girls and they are energetic - but in a girl way :)
