My mom passed away unexpectedly when my youngest was 2 mo. old, it was very hard as she was very involved with my other children. My mom will have been gone for two years this coming March, it's still very hard. I'm going through a nobody understands me like my mom phase and I wish she was still her so I could talk with her about my dad, grandkids, husband, school, life in general. There are other people I confide in and talk with, but no one quite talks to you the way your mom does -- I miss her so much:(

I hear you! So it doesn't get any easier 2 years later huh? I keep trying to tell myself that she is around all the time now, and she gets to see everything my daughter does. But that doesn't seem to always make me feel better.

Thanks, I'm sure she is proud of me; she always was proud of anything I did. I know she loved the first three grandchildren and would have loved the new baby just as much -- and he would have been just as spoiled as the rest of them:)

I know how you feel. My mom died when my first child was 6 weeks old. She was very sick, in and out of the hospital but it was still a shock and I'm still grieving today and she passed 8 years ago. So I know how you feel, whenever something good or bad happens in your life the first person you want to talk to is your mother and when she's no longer present it leaves you empty. I just thank God I have 2 older sisters who were there to help me when my daughter was born because I knew nothing about bottles and diapers, etc... But it still stings to know that my kids (I have 4 now) will never know their grandmother. So keep strong. I'm sure your mother is proud of you no matter what, and checks in now and then :)
