i am 49 and have 3 grandbabies , 3,2,and 1 and one on the way. i have four children and two of them haven't gotten started yet. we will have to move, lol. need more room. love every minute of being momaw...

I find I have been able to deal more with the overall care of my granddaughter and have much more patience. I am lucky to be a stay at home grandmother, so whenever my daughter needs extra support I am here.

I agree. I do get a little impatient though when there are more than two at a time to deal with.

they appreciate you more, but, I think we appreciate them more, more than we did our own children.. for me, I have a lot more patience with them , and I am more relaxed . 20 years ago I was raising 2 kids, working 2 jobs, and trying to keep the house clean and of course make it to every ball game, karate class, bowling event, 4H meeting.... on and on.. now, if I am spending time with the grandkids, it's just good quality time.

I turned 50 in Jan. and have 4 of my own grandchildren - 8 yrs., 2-5 yrs., and a 3 yr old. and will become step-grandmom to 4 more in less than a month - 10 yrs, 9 yrs, 7 yrs, and another 5 yr old. I am loving every minute of it. By the way, 7 girls and 1 boy!!

My grandchildren have actually brought extra life back into my home. I can't imagine a day without them in it. As a 'Mamaw" who has already buried one grandchild, I live each day like it is my last.
Nothing else is as important as spending time with the grandchildren. I'm actually praying about becoming a stay at home grandmother, just to spend more time with them. Love those babies like they are yours....after all they are a part of you!

I sort of feel the same way, wishing I could be a stay at home NaNa.. my Son and Daughter in law work long hard hours, and my grandchildren always seem to be at daycare.  When my kids were little i ran my own daycare center. I dont think i have the energy for that now, but, i would love to be wealthy enough to be at home with them at least.

YES, My house is always chaotic, I babysit after school. I think it is better than being a

parent they appreciate you so much more.
