I have a lot of questions for everyone, so I just wanted to preempt with an "I apologize" if these are repeat questions.

I was diagnosed BP 5 years ago. Lately for some reason I have been really struggling. Crying spells, mood swings, anxiety surges...... I was on lamictal and they switched me to tegretol, I am wondering if this is the cause. I have NEVER felt this terrible in my life.

Katherine, they I was diagnosed with BP 10 years ago and I went through a whole process of mix and match meds until they just finally found the right combo. Currently, I take Zoloft, Depakote, Syraquil, and Abilify as well as Xanxas(sp?) Unfortunately, I past the disorder down to my 14 year old and he was diagnosed a year ago and is completely out of control. I wanted to tell you stay positive they will eventually find the right combo of meds to get you regulated and you'll start to learn how to sense when your cycling and learn to stop them or at least curb them some. It will get better. :)

Oh cool. Thanks! I will have to try there then. I went to Arbor Circle for awhile but it took forever to get in to see the psychiatrist. I ended up getting a job and had to quit the counseling, but now I'm laid off again.

Where is Canton? I suck at Michigan geography.

Canton. There are places to help you when you don't have insurance and that is one of them.

Yay for getting medicaid back!

Where is Lincoln Behavioral?

That would be crazy if we lived around the corner! I'm in Grand Rapids. Where are you?

Cool. I live in Michigan too!

Last I knew they hadn't made generics of two of my meds, as they are extended release, but I will see if they've started yet.

I was on lamictal, effexor, and wellbutrin until I lost my insurance last year. Now I'm on nothing and it sucks.

I'm glad you're feeling better Katherine!

Same here! I hate feeling that way too!

I'm totally convinced that I have pmdd too. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really bipolar or if my hormones are just all out of whack. Probably both.

Yes! Actually I have pms right now too and I am completely crazy. I find myself going off about things that I don't really care about and wanting to cry about stupid things.

Just got back on it, but you know it will take time. The worst is right before my period. Oh my God it's so bad. Have you experienced that?

Did you feel this way while you were on lamictal and that is why they switched your medication or did you feel this way after you switched?
