true talk pepe, my husband loves our daughter to bits but he also loves our son too, he is indifferent and i think times have really changed. the mama na boy hype is over and african men are realizing the girls stay longer and nearer than the boys do

Hi,l'm Philomena,l'm Zimbabwean and l live in New-York...
l've a son of 10 months old...
YES African men do prefer their sons to carry the family name, but times have changed and in Zimbabwe with the way the economy plummeted twas the daughters who if sent abroad would uplift the family left behind....
lf the sons were sent abroad, you would count yourself lucky to get a phone call! lol
We have an old saying that says "A son is your son, until he gets married...
Your daughter is your daughter for life!!"
ln other words, your son will serve and do right by his mother-in-law...!!
l'm going to enjoy my time here,ladies....

Hi Gladys, would say it depends on individuals. Likely cultural preference would dictate sons to daughters mainly for argument to keep family name. But in d 21st century, I will say there are many conflicting factors and any sensible person shd be grateful for a good child who will be an honor to d family, whether male or female.
