I recommend using veet or nair for the shaving lol my daughter does competitive cheer and is a flyer, well her dad is Mexican and she is a bit hairy lol, I put it on for her and she washes it off in the shower, we started this when she was 9 now 11 but we only do it once maybe twice a month, just wanted to share that, this way she doesnt get a nasty cut then not want to ever shave again and yes is no fun being a girl, hope this helps

lol I JUST posted a question about the same thing! My daughter is 9 and a few weeks have gone by and I tried to ignore t. She's not overweight or anything so I started getting a little freaked too. I like to hear all this advice because it IS normal. Periods starting at age 9 to 15 is very helpful. She feels uncomfortable wearing them and it is taking her a little while to get used to them, but she feels like a big girl so she sucks it up. I also had to step up the showers recently because she had some BO issues that couldn't go unnoticed. So we have officially reached the bra and deodorant stage ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know! I didn't need a training bra until I was like 14 but I had large boobs by the time I was 16. I had to buy my daughter a bra last year too! Is it really the growth hormones in the chicken? lol

My daughter came home from school about a month ago crying because in PE, she had been made fun for triangles poking out. She already had one bra that she had been allowed to wear whenever. I took her and bought her 2 sports bra and 2 more regular ones. We have also already had the talk so hopefully we are prepared. That day was definately a reality check. I wanted to cry knowing that she now needed the bra

my stepdaughter is ten...she doesnt need one yet but we bought her one,,,,to start "training" her to get used to wearing one. we bought her deodarant ( she needs it) and we had to go buy her an electric razor after she used mine to shave her legs after getting teased at school. she has horrific hygene we have to make her go back and brush her teeth AGAIN with toothpaste and ACYUALLY wash her hair. her dad has to ask her every morning if she changed her undies and socks, otherwise she won't. i don't know why she does this but i'm worried about her, shes gonna turn into the stinky kid.

My daughter has been wearing bras since she was 9, doesn't have anything to fill them yet, but at least I won't have to worry about it when she does. The school district we are in showed the pubery videos to the kids within the last 2 weeks, girls and boys separated of course, but she didn't have too many wuestions as we have been discussing this for awhile. I remember when they didn't show that until 6th grade. Better to start showing it in 4th as they are certainly developing so much younger now.

My daughter is 10 and her boobs are bigger than my 12 year old stepdaughters....I was shocked! Both girls are going through puberty my 12 year old started her cycle last week which thankfully I had already had the talk so she wasn't too traumatized by the ordeal. My 10 year old skipped the training bra and I have to purchase bras in the juniors department. My 12 year old is still able to wear a training bra. My rule for my girls is no bra you're not leaving the house and it works because they wear them religiously. As far as your question as to why their called that, they're not training the boobs their training your daughter to get use to wearing one but if she's developing breasts she's beyond a training bra and should wear one with support.

Oh yes the dreaded day of the "Boobies" My 10 yr old came home from school one day freaking out because she thought she had breast cancer. She said she had a knot in her breast so I checked it out. Turns out she was getting buds. lol my husband ran out of the room with his hands over his ears. He is not to thrilled at the idea of his baby girl growing up. AWH...puberity you gotta love it.

*sigh* my daughter is 9 and her father and I almost fainted when she was wearing a shirt and we could see her boobies through it....TIME FOR TRAINING BRAS....ugh!! We took her and let her pick out a few she liked and explained to her that she has to wear them everyday...like underwear and made it clear that u shouldn't be able to see it under her shirts. There is a book I highly reccomend its call Just For Girls.. I got from barnes and nobles...I reccomend reading with your daughter just incase she has any questions...it helps explain everything their body is going through and how their feelings are changing and all...it's better they are prepared and learn with mom than talk about it at school or with friends and may get false info... GOOD LUCK!!

My daughter is. Trying to explain to her that she is going to have to start wearing a bra is hard because she is still so young. She is only 9 and wants to do what 9 year olds do, but it's beginning to look bad, if she doesn't start wearing one soon, I'm afraid her teacher will say something. Plus, her father is NOT on board with the bra thing, he looks at her as still a little baby.

My daughter is 9 and will be 10 in August and she started developing "boobies" last summer...and yes I was shocked...not ready at all for that. So we had to talk about that last year I told her that she might want to start wearing bras at least when she went to school and going out but they are really coming out now...the funny thing was is when she asked "omg what comes next that period thing", and I said "yes" and she said "well is it going to hurt" I told her it would feel like a real bad stomach ache then she asked "well what happens after that do I start shaving" and I said "maybe" and she said "so it's not real fun being a girl then huh" sometimes not. lol

My daughter has not developed yet, but it seems that all the girls in her class are talking about it. She checks for changes daily...too cute! In Parenting magazine it stated they can start having their period from 9 to 15 years of age so it sounds like any time soon would be a good time to talk about the changes.

My 9 year old is a boy (one that i have already discussed the fact that his body will be changing soon ... but ... one of my best friends daughter is 9 (birthday 11/07) and she started her peiord last month. My 6 year old already has a few "training bras" (no boobies though) but she doens't wear them everyday. I imagine she will start officially wearing them when its apparent that her breasts are developing.

Lol, i don't know that we are "training" the boobies for anything, but maybe we are "training" the girls to get used to wearing them.
