My 20 month old son has been chewing on his fist (shoves the whole fist in his mouth) for several days now, I was thiunking he was teething but now I am not sure. I beginning to think he may have hand foot mouth disease but not sure. He has these little sores on his feet and hands that look almost like something has bit him or blister like, his nose is running clear and he has developed a rash on his bottom 2 days ago. He also has some rashes on his face. Has anyone's child had this and can tell me more about it.

that is most definatley hand foot and mouth, If he is going to daycare , make sure to let the school know, and keep home until the blisters have broken and no longer any fluid from them.

my boy had it aswell. Not a fun time. paracetamol helps the pain if you can, sucking on cold flannels to sooth the sores may help to, just remember to keep his stuff seperate from others... Do you use supermarket trolleys? we located this to the source of our little man getting it. I would always take with me some antibacterial wipes when i needed to use trolleys.... there are so many germs on those things... just think about the possibilities and it makes you sick.

It's a virus so there is nothing that can be done. I would take him to the doctor just so the doctor can confirm it. It's highly contagious so keep him at home. It goes away as quickly as it pops up. My son had that and thrush at the same time. Lots of fun! :-)

my daughter got hand foot and mouth. the spots look like pimples with a little head on them. the will be on the bottom of his feet, the palms of his hands and all around his mouth. it is contageous but my son who is home with us the whole time she had it never got it so just keep his hands and feet covered if you can and make sure he doesnt share drinks or anything with anyone else until they are gone

My son currently has Hand/Foot/Mouth disease! It sounds exactly as you described, and is contagious so I would take him to the dr. They don't won't do anything for it, as it's a virus, but better safe than sorry!

Little sores that look almost like blisters...thats what my nephew had, and yes, thats what it was. If you google it there will be pictures to compare to, but you should certainly get him to the doctor as soon as you can.
