Type of potty chair for little boy?

I like the potty chair that goes on the floor because it is easy for my boy to get on and off. There is one that looks like a toilet but it has a cup to catch a little boys pee. It is called a fisher price cheer for me potty. It sings when your child uses the potty and it is very cute. I also recommend that you get a travel potty cover for when you travel. It helps create a potty that is child sized. Hope this helps!

I have three boys and I would just get the ring that goes on the toilet or look and see if they have one of those 3 in 1 things where it is potty chair, a potty ring and later a stool. I might suggest though not to pick on with the little splash protector on it because when they try to get off it, the boys tend to kind of catch their little willies on it and it hurts so if it hurts they kind of don't want to use it. If they think the potty is going to hurt them they just won't want to go potty.

My little girl (20 months) goes with me to the bathroom, takes off her diaper, and sits on her potty chair. She has only actually peed in it like once in a month. But she still goes with me and tries. She even wipes herself and then dumps the little pot out in the toilet and flushes...lol. I think she is totally ready but children LOVE to mimic their parents. I would go ahead and try potty training though because cousins little girl was about this age and one day she just said she didn't want a diaper, walked into the bathroom, and went, hasn't worn a diaper since (I wish they were all that easy).

I bought my son those seats that go on top of the big toilet. I let him pick out which design he wanted. & I told him that if he has to go then to go on Elmo (his toilet seat was Elmo). I know some people who bought training potty`s & when it came to switching them to the big potty they refused to go & only wanted to go in the training potty. So I just skipped the training potty all together to help prevent that problem.

I've got both. But because he uses the potty chair at school he does not use the toilet one any more. Instead he stands by the toilet like a real little man (soooo cute) and does his thing. I did find that having the toilet one, I could cart it around to other peoples homes and made my life easier when he did want to potty.

I would buy him a seat that goes on the toilet. I bought my son a plain white one, because having any design on it always distracted him and he didnt want to pay attention to actually going potty. Also, its easier, because you won't have to make the transition from the little potty to the toilet.
