Back to school jitters...

I hope everyone has been having a great summer. I'm sure it's been a busy one since there hasn't been much activity on here since June! It's been a roller coaster for us, but we have the medication dosage finally worked out so I think it's going to be ok! I know my son is looking forward to going back to school. He's happy he will be going on to a new classroom with a new teacher. I just hope the other kids in his class will be a nicer group than last year. Matthew shows no signs of apprehension yet, but I'm starting to get nervous for him. His tics have been getting worse over the past month, but I also think he's trying to hide them less when we go out in public. That's a good thing. Anyone else have any back to school jitters?

HI Dana, I'm new here ~ my son is 12 and we have had GREAT success with Intuniv for both tics and ADHD...although he's still a handful, he's a lot more in control of himself. Three weeks ago he told me "Mom, it's like I don't even have tics anymore"....then boom....the week b/4 school starts they are coming back. I've read that it worsens during puberty and I have been dreading it while still trying to keep a positive attitude and energy going, but yeah, I have the BTS jitters for him and fear they will come back strong and we'll have to do the "much dreaded" talk to the class at some point. I hope it doesn't come to that and I hope your son has a fab start to school w/ nice kids this year :)
