I don't know how many of you have children with CI's. My daughter will be getting bilateral CI's on May 13th. We have chosen advanced bionics for her. Today in the mail she recieved a Melody. She is Bionic Buddy's sister and AB's mascot for children. She is just adorable. She wears a pink outfit and has bilateral CI's. The CI's velcro onto the head, just like a normal child's would. Caitlynn was very concerned that if they would fall off then Melody couldn't hear, so mommy had to attach them better. It is a great stuffed animal and a great way to show her everything!

Great Job AB

It's so great to know that they cater to the kids' needs like that! I am very hopeful that my little guy will be getting implants soon. His evaluation is May 12th...MRI on the 15th. I will be thinking about you guys on the 13th and wish you the best of luck! I look forward to following your hearing journey with her!

My son has bilateral Freedoms. He got a stuffed Kacy the Koala (actually 2 since he's bilateral) with his implants. It also has the velcro attached CI. It's definitely a great idea by the implant companies to give these to the kids. Good luck with surgery!

There is a boy @ my sons school who has the a monkey that wears Bionics implant.. its so cute he sits in class with the students :) My son is getting his implant June 5 only on his Profound side the other side is just severe and will do well with just a hearing aid. We have chosen to go with Nucleus Freedom we like that fact that they have been around longer then any other and have had less failure rates. I also like the style of it. Overall they all have the same outcome. I bet you are so excited! I'am cant wait!
