Googy eggs and soldiers are still afavourite in our house (soft boiled eggs with toast cut into fingers), homemade chips (potatos cut into chip like shapes put on a baking tray and drizzled with oil then put in a moderate oven for about 20min) - also go really well with the eggs. Grated carrot and cheese put in a bowl together. fruit salad.
Try having a picnic - put a rug on the floor have a favourite treat and some proper lunch adn say you must eat half your sandwich before you can have the cupcake (for example) and of course have your lunch with them, just like a picnic. Keep lunch mobile - can lunch be the one meal they don't have to sit at the table for. That doesn't mean they can walk around the house with it, have on the coffee table they must sit when they are eating but can keep coming back to it for a certain amount of time (Say 30min).

Celery with peanut butter then put a few raisins on it (ants on a log) just something a little extra fun to serve with whatever else you give him for lunch : )

Our son loves naan bread with anything but we sometimes put tinned spaghetti, ham, pineapple and cheese on top and grill/broil it. Also toasted sandwiches are his favourite, maybe ham/chicken, cheese, tomato and onion on it - yum!

My daughter loves soup. Especially the box of Lipton noodle soup. She has also discovered the Progresso chicken and rice soup. Go figure.

My daughter usually gets sent to daycare with leftovers from the previous night's dinner as lunch. So she has taken all kinds of meat, veggies, fruit, yogurt, sandwiches, burritos, rice and beans, pasta - you name it. Sometimes I will add cheese and crackers or some goldfish crackers, but almost nothing "processed" ends up in there. Some of her favorites are yogurt with food coloring to make it interesting, green beans, chicken, and blueberries.

If yours is like mine they want to help all the time or do it themselves. We make min pizzas with English Muffins and then my kiddo helps put on the sauce, cheese and toppings. Its quick and if you can get them to put on some veggies its worth it. I also make a giant batch of bow tie pasta on the weekend and put it in the fridge with no sauce on it then he has that and dunks it in his sauce (weird kid I know). Most often he is at school and they serve all vegetarian so i try and get protein in to him on the weekends and at night. I am a huge fan of Trader Joe's. Their frozen meatballs are awesome. You can toss them in the crock pot with sauce and off you go.
I work full time during the week outside of the house so I am really in to the stuff that you can by that is cut up for you, or precooked. I know it costs more but it costs less than eating out every night.
Have fun!

These are all great suggestions! When my daughter was that age though, she was hooked on "Tubby Toast." She was very into Teletubbies at that time, so I used to make Tubby Toast (which is often featured on the show) for her. I'd toast a piece of bread, cut it into a large circle, spread peanut butter on it and then make a smiley face on it by pressing raisins into the peanut butter. I swear she lived on that for at least a year!

My son likes Chicken Nuggets, Mac & Cheese and the Hot Dog lunchables. He also enjoys chicken noodle soup (I get Lipton Extra Noodles). For snacks he loves carrots with ranch, grapes, strawberries.
