I have a friend whose son is the same age of as mine. We have had several play dates but suddenly my friends son is hitting my son and sometimes with objects! I am starting to not want my son to play with hers because he is not a hitter and does not know how to defend himself (he is 2 years and 8 months old) . I do not want to teach my son to hit but starting to think I have no other option. They are suppose to baby sit for my husband and I and I am SO afraid! I don't want to offend her but I don't want her child hitting mine either!

I had to get rid of friend due to the fact my son says 'no ma please,she hurts me' It breaks my heart when he balls up his little fist and shows me where she hits him.

This is always a a hard one to deal with. My daughter is the same age but is the hitter in the group and I can tell you what it sucks!!!!! I try to make sure that she knows not to hit other kids and I do punish her then and there if she does hit. I know part of it is there age but I still dont want her hitting other peoples kids. Have a talk to you friend, she has to know her kid hits others or if she doesnt she needs to know. I would even pull the kid up yourself in your house just by say something like' Honey in our house we keep our hands to ourselves and use our words'. Dont teach your son to hit back because then you will have the same problem. From a parent of a child that has hit, I do know that parents dont like it and I do try to stop it before it happens, yes we do let the odd one go or let the kids solve it themselves but I will always intervene if I think she will hit the other kid
