Why does my child hate school?

My child is 4 years old and he would always say that he hates school and he doesn't want to go to school and he doesn't want to learn! Are these words and feelings normal for a kid? I'm really worried about this especially that I’m suspecting that he has ADHD.

Is pushing him to study and learn can also be factors that are causing him to hate school or kids hating school is just normal?

He started going to school at the age of 3 but it was not formal. I sent him there to give him an idea about going to school and learning.

If you can i suggest homeschooling so you can meet your childs needs. There are lots of online free homeschooling programs now as well as some private online. Then you can put him othe activities. My son does teakwando, swimming, violin.

My son just turned 5 and has loved preschool so far, but every child is different. Perhaps there is something about the school that your son just doesn't like; the teaching style may not be helpful for him, or he could have problems with other children. I'd talk to his teacher to figure out what might be giving him a hard time, and see if there's anything that could be done to encourage him.

Don't push. He's only four. Take him out of school. Bring him to things like story hour, gymnastics and swimming untill it is time for him to go to public mandated school.

Most kids love school. Investigate if he can't give you clues as to why. If you can't figure it out move schools. His learning and interest in it now does matter the rest of his education. The foundation is being set. My son was unhappy at the same age at school but after we moved him he thrived. Though I had clues I never knew for sure what the problem was. I just knew something had to change. I was so glad I didn't wait more than a semester to do something or he might be a different kid today!
