Hello I have a 9 son who has always been a cryer now now that he is getting older its getting worse. He has not had his dad around much comes and goes when he wants but is really close with my dad (papa) I have tried talking to him taking things away and grounding him nothing seems to work. He also has adhd and is on a very low dose of meds I have talked to the doctors but they dont do anything, I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!

try giving him a book he can right in like a jornal, my son is very emotonal and will cry for any number of silly ( by my thoughts) but being able to right what he is feeling helps him control it. we found getting upset with him only made it worse because then he would cry because we are mad at him.. nasty circle. p.s my son is almost 11 and i was the same way ( still are to some point). so have patiants with him and love his quirks they make him who is his.

He could just be an emotional kid. If he's on meds, maybe that is a side effect? Is he crying (tears, sad) or whining? If he is crying then there must be a reason. And if he's just more emotional, I'm sure his tender heart will come in handy when he's a grown up and his compassion for people will move him to do great and wonderful things! Hang in there!

Hi there, My son is 9 also,( adhd) same here with the dad situation, also close with with my dad (papa) also, and he is a crier too. In school he gets teased, and his clasmmates tell me, your son always cries. He comes home and tells me that they make fun of his last name, etc... could it be he is being bullied? but it also can be that he might want more attention? I really don't know, mine is a whiner, oh you don't love mommy type, ask him if something is going on in school? if not then it could be just for attention.
