My daughter didn't wear her hearing aids for very long and she is getting cochlear implants next week, but I found the string holder helpful. It has two loops that slide over the hook of the aid and the you can tighten it around her head and then it clips to the back of her shirt. I could tighten it enough that she had to work a lot harder to get it off and I could usually get to her before she had it off. I have also heard of using tupe tape. It is double stick and makes it harder for them to come off. Hope things get better. It is so rough trying to keep them on, and mine was only a few months old, can't imagine one that mobile, it is hard to keep up with them anyway.

Not sure how old you have to be to get this but check out www.lyrichearing.com goes into the ear canal..you wear it for 3 mths and then it gets replaced every 3 mths..no surgery just office visit to change it. hope that helps

hi there, im sorry to hear your struggle with the hearing aids! my son is profoundly deaf in both sides, and was given hearing aids from 3mnth old! it was so hard to keep them in, as at 3mnth old, they spend alot of time layed down. after a while, as you know, things became very frustrating! we were given some huggies to try which didnt work very well...then we got some little double sided gel sticky dots from audiology. one side sticks to the sid, and the other, to the back of the ear, were the aid sits. we found these very usefull to keep them in place, but then theres keeping the child from pulling at them. i think perseverence is the answer, and as others have said, good old distraction! my son now wears a cochlear implant, and never touches it now, as he's used to having things around his ears since 3mnth old, now he's 2 and a half!
hope this helps!..good luck! xx

distraction is wonderful for that age child thankfully my son was old enough to understand that they were there to help him hear and he left them alone (he aklso thought they were the coolest things on the face of the earth ) he was 6 when he was diagnosed with sever hearing loss at 65% loss in both ears i think it helped a lot that he had been soo frustrated at not being able to hear that when he got them and could hear for the first time he immediately ;loved them and never wanted to take them out i know now might not be the time for them but later on they have a product that is kinda like earrings they are called tube riders and are relatively cheap there are many designs for boys and girls like flowers or airplanes and they slide on the tube part of the hearing aids to decorate them and help the child feel better about them found them on the internet but i still think distracting her is your best bet did your daughters come with a leash if not ask for one they keep the aids at least attached to the back of her shirt if she gets playing hard and they fall out at least they won't get lost also something to consider for school years is a FM system i know it is early yet but our school hooked my son up with this and it helps tremendously to reduce background noise the teacher wears a microphone and talks directly to him sorry to add in more info than you asked for but i am still new to this hearing aid business myself and just want to share what i have learned so someone else dosn't have to do battle to find this out themselves like i did if you still have a hard time with her keeping them in ask the dr that prescribed them for some advise and tell them what you tried already maybe they are not quite the right fit after all does she have silicone earmolds they are so much more comfortable than the hard plastic ones one other thing to try is to put them in for an hour or 2 take them out for a while then put them back in and just gradually increase the length of time she wears them i know my son needed time to adjust to them it can be unsetteling for a child her age to go from not hearing a lot to being bombarded with all kinds of new sounds she will need time to get used to it good luck i hope this helped some

I was in hearing aids by 6mths. They kept them in at that early of an age with those little headbands with a bow on top. Instead of putting it behind my ears they put it right on top of them. When they saw me going after them they would take my hands and play patty cake or hand me a toy to distract me. I eventually got so used to them being in that I forgot all about them.
With your daughter being three its time to learn wheels on the bus or something else that will keep her hands busy. Keep her mind off of them and she to will soon forget about them being there. I'm thinking its time to start coloring more or even working on her writing skills!!!!
