my son is the same way, he is delayed with everything, but he was 2 weeks overdue and weight was 7.14 but he is 5 years old an weights now only 22 pounds which is under weight by what the doctors say to me they say he is thribe to grow, which is developmental delayed and has a very hard time to potty train because of a blockage in his bellie, so i know how you feel about with the eatting part with school cause my kid is going through the same thing now, he eats and eats but there's no weight to him, he's seen so many speciallist about everything that i don't even have time for a day off durning the week i'm always at an appointments for my kids.all the help you can get for your kids the better, bye talk to you later

Thank you for your response. My son has therapy through Easter Seal 4 times a week. My son is delayed because he was born at 35 weeks and he stopped breathing. He just wasn't ready to be born. I'm not sure how far delayed he is because his skills are rated at so many different ages. Over all he seems to be about 6 months behind his age group with his physical skills. But he does have problems with eating also and that worries me because he is suppose to start preschool in August.

Hi Celeste. My son has developemental delays but was born in 2005. He didnt start walking till 2, potty trained at 4 and half , speech still delayed but improving every day. He is 5 now and just started jumping with both feet in the air. His fine motor skills are still quite delayed although he is now able to use a fork and spoon very messily. He is delayed in everything but is reaching all the milestones, just late. But I say better late than never! My son has some chromosome abnormalities and attends a mainstream school with a supported learning center. There are only 5 kids in the class and 2 very experienced special need teachers. He socializes well and has made friends with the mainstream kids. Do you know why your son is delayed and how far delayed is he. If you would like to talk more about how Paul was as a 3 year old please email me. kelleymcerlain@yahoo.com Early intervention is crucial such as Physio Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. Paul is improving greatly and has had these therapies basically since birth. Since starting school he is learning so much more too. Kelley
