What is your granddaughter's name?  I would like to put her on a prayer list.  I pray everything goes well without complication.  Does she have a hole in her heart?  My son had a medium sized hole but closed up within a year.  How old is she?

Isn't it amazing the joy that children bring to our lives?  There is something "special" though about the joy that DS children bring, it's unexplainable unless it's something you've experienced with a DS child.  Amazing, just amazing!

Thanks to everyone for posting comments and suggestions.  To have a child with DS has been such a blessing to my family.  He has taught me so much and he is only 2!  He has taught me patience and true unconditional love, I call him my little snuggle bug!

You look like you have a wonderful family. My daughter just blessed us with our first Granddaughter on October 7th. She also has Down Syndrome. She is a beautiful little girl and has been thru many health challenges already and has more to go. She is scheduled for heart surgery next month. She is just the sweetest little baby and she is such a trouper. We love her so dearly - she is very special to us.

much closer together!  She's potty trained, talks, and is now reading!  Early Intervention is really important!

Hi, Melissa! My name is Angela. I have two sons. Andrew is 2 1/2 and Benjamin is 7 months old. We found out about an hour after Benjamin was born that he has Down syndrome. He had two heart defects repaired two months ago and is doing well. I still struggle with the diagnosis, to be honest, but have learned so much and grown so much in the past seven months. :)

Hi! I am the 33 year old mother of 3. My youngest is 11 and has Down Syndrome. It is a challange having a 4 year old who is approaching puberty. That scares me to death. She is great to spend time with when you don't have things to do, but can be very demanding when you have to get things done round the house. It is definately not boring having her around!

HI! I'm Jenn, I have 2 children Patrick, 7, DS and Emily 19 months...and I couldn't picture my life any other way...He's so smart, so funny, and SOOOOO energetic...and she's right behind him at all times. The 2 are joined at the hip. Whatever he does...she has to try to do...I'm just exhausted by the end of the day...

Hi, I'm a 35 y/o mom of an 18th month old with DS and several heart issues. He has had 4 open heart surgeries and seems to be finally in the healthy category. We just started Physical Therapy to help him catch up developmentally. He is the light of my life and I live for his sweet smile.

Hello, I'm 34 and have a little girl with Down's that is now 3-months old. She is a very good baby, and a GOOD sleeper! I live for her smiles. I also have a 3-year-old who is a wonderful big sister and always wants to see what her baby sister is doing.

I have a little girl named Katherine who will be 2 in February. She is an absolute little miracle. Born 2 months premature at 2lbs 11ozs and 14 inches long. She has no health issues at all. No heart or respiratory problems. She had a corrective eye surgery in January to fix her cross eyes. Other than that, she's had 2 colds and 3 ear infections. We feel extremely lucky. One would think that just from being that premature that she would have a ton of issues...but then couple that with the Downs...she is amazing. Would love to talk to all other parents!

Hiya, I'm 38 years old, with a 7 year old son called Jack who has Down's Syndrome, he can be very stubborn and very contrary, but I wouldn't be without him for anything.
He's so cute sometimes it's hard not to laugh when he's misbehaving.
