My 8 year old son was diagnosed with DMD when he was 5, he's currently on Predisone and has been for 3 years, he doesn't really know the extent of his illness, we explain stages to him when as we go through them. 2 days ago he was asked to participate in a Clinical Trial for Exons Skipping. At the moment they're testing safety and tolerability.. My Husband & I are a bit skeptical at the moment... What would you do?

Our 15 year old has never qualified for any of the trials or we would have participated. You never know it may be the cure!! I would definitely participate.

I have a 13 yr old with duchenne, when he was younger they didn't offer any that he was eligible for,but I would've participated, recently I was asked for him to participate but he's not interested, he knows the extent of his disease and because of his age I can't make him participate. I would do it because in the long run it's going to help many people with this disease, if no one participated they wouldn't get very far in finding a cure someday.
