How do you tell young children that their new sibling is special needs?

my son is 7 years old with fragile x syndrome. Ive been in a relationship for several months and our children finally met for the first time. My bf has four girls who range in age from 11-3 years old. The oldest was very upset about my sons behaviors. We aren't sure exactly what bothered her, but she went home after visiting our new apartment crying to her mother. I have to admit we didn't prepare the girls as well as i think they should have been, but we were completely unsure of how to explain to them what a special needs child was, or what it meant for them.... any advice would be much appreciated....

I told my daughter when she was 3 yrs old that her brother had special needs . She has always new he was different to her. Im very proud of my daugther course she helps me with her brother and her two younger sibblings with spcial needs too , Just explain as best as you can and not in full details that can come later on but just try to have a family sit down and explain easy for them to understand.I hope it all works out and all the best.
