I need high calorie homemade "formula" recipes

My son, Jacob, is 5 yrs old. He currently drinks Ensure to supplement his oral caloric intake, but it's really beginning to tax our budget now that our new insurance has denied coverage. His pediatrician suggested a homemade version and was going to look into some recipes for us. Does anyone have some suggestions?
Thanks!

Maybe think about starting him on some probiotics to ensure he has proper absorption of all food that goes into his body? This might be something you would want to look into as well. And to be safe, maybe make sure it is a hypo-allergenic one. Meaning no "actual" milk ingredients and such. I know that having my son on a probiotic has helped immensely with his eating and intake of the nutrients of what he "will" eat.

My son was always 5th percentile for weight and a friend asked me why I worried if he was on the chart, then she asked if my doctor was concerned. (He wasn't) Some kids will always be thin no matter what you try!!

Thanks. We started out with Carnation a few yrs ago, and ended up w. the Ensure b.c we needed more calories. But now Jacob is eating better, still not great which is why we need the liquid calories. I'll revisit the Carnation, I can't believe I didn't think of it!

My son had feeding issues and I noticed early on that the carnation instant breakfast, when added to whole milk, is about the same and a lot cheaper!

Sure you can mix it with anything. It is called Meal Shake from Shaklee. They are a 52 year old Health and Wellness Company that only uses the best ingredients. everything is all natural and organic.

Here is a link http://www.shaklee.net/wellnesscreators/...

This is my business so if you have any questions please ask- I am here to help.

What's it called? Can it be mixed with soy?

I don't have any homemade recipes but I have a business in the health and wellness industry and I can offer a better product than Ensure. When mixed with whole milk its 330 calories and it comes in vanilla or bavarian chocolate flavors. It will run you $43.40 for 32 servings. Not sure why you are supplementing and how much per day but if you are interested there is a way to get discounts and even get to a FREE product level if you are interested.

I sympathize with your situation and I would love to have the opportunity to help you.

All my best,
