Implant to control Siezures

Are there any other Moms or Dads with Children that had the implant for siezure control...how is it working and what were the risk...and where they able to stop medications. My daughter neurology Dr. is recommending the implant;I'm in the process of researching the implant and the risks.

i have had lots of early intervention students with the vns implant. all were helped by the vns, making siezures less frequent and less severe, but none ever got off all their siezure meds. none had any difficulties with the surgery or afterwards. for my own children (withother needs) i always got a seecond opinion before any major surgery, just for my own peace of mind. good luck and i hope this is a little helpful!
