Is the grey/blue colouring and not crying a sign of starvation of oxygen at birth

Hi Sharlene, not sure if my post went through, but I will send it again.

No he was not taken to special care right away. He was brought to us as if everything was fine. 12 hours after he was born he had a seizure. They took his vitals and sent him back to our room with the explanation that he was choking. It took them 8 hours and 4 seizures to finally take him to Special Care. All in all he had 15 seizures in 12 hours and was transferred to the Children's Hospital. They did an MRI and found bleeding on his brain as well as spots where there was lack of oxygen. He is now being monitored for CP. Because he is only 7 months they don't actually give a diagnosis. The Neurologist said on our son's behalf he would give this diagnosis so he can get the help he needs.

I'm not 100 percent sure, but my son was born the same colour and did not cry right away. He was vacuumed out so they rushed him right over to the pedietrician who was waiting to check him... I told my husband to go over and see what was wrong, why was he not crying... The nurse rubbed my arm and told me, "it's okay, they are just having a little trouble getting him to breath on his own."

So like I said, I'm assuming that's why...Recently when I told my sister about what the nurse had said she said to me, "I was going to say something about his colour earlier, but didn't want to upset you! I wondered if that was why he wasn't the right colour!" This was my first baby so I didn't know what they looked like when they came out! Not to mention they wisked him right away without even letting me see him...

Hey heather, No my son was born with autism and my 2 yr old has GDD ,she showing more then 3 different delays and she was born with Hydrocephalus. Has your son being shunt yet, do you mind me asking.

Hi Sharlene, thanks for your very interesting reply,, Water on the brain is Hyrdocephaulis,, My son ben was also given a diagnoses of autistic spectrum disorder,, can i ask why your son was diagnosed with gdd..take care, hope to talk again soon

Same thing happened to my first born about 9yrs ago, He came out grey and white and not crying they worked on him for at lease 10 minutes giving him oxygen and then was taken to special care, He was born with autism. You said your son was born with fluid on the brain is that Hydrocephalus course my 2 yr old has that and GDD. take care
