Hello I am a mom of and 11 year old bipolar son. I have been to hell and back with my son. He has been to the hospital so many times that I lost count. I have been dealing with this since he was about 3 1/2 although many symptoms showed up before that, but, were unknown by me. I am just looking for other moms who would like to share their triumphs and defeats. You know maybe bounce ideas off of each other. Also maybe just to vent about all the conflicting feelings you have about parenting a bipolar child. We all know it is not easy and knowing you are not alone in this is a great comfort in and of itself. I look forward to hearing from you guys. God Bless!

Hello I have a 12 yr old son with Bipolar, Severe mixed. He is a handful! I know it was easier with him until he hit puberty. Now with his hormones doing their thing and his Bipolar, AD/HD and PTSD, it is sometimes almost more than I can handle. One thing I did notice this year, playing sports helped him alot!

Hi Melissa, , , my son is 15 and with ADHD. borderline Bipolar, OCD, FAC,.! The one thing that is so important --

KEEP a CHART that is in a ClearView

Create a defined STRUCTURE in daily life.

Consistant with medications at the same time every day!

Let this cihld know what is expected from you! This is at home and outside. There must be rules that they can follow (whehter they do or not)! If they don't follow thru than there is a consequence.

SUGGESTION!: Give her 5 responsibilities that she is responsible for. If she is unable to completet them -- take away something that she likes. The CONSEQUENCE must be EQUAL to the crime!

Choose your BATTLES! If you don't choose your battles you will defintely drain all your energy. You can also do research online.

I pray that these suggestions help OR improve your relationship between you and your child.

This would be a great tme of the year to make these clear changes. The 1st of January would be good for CHANGES!!! d
