is there any mother out there who knows how it feels to have a child with Scoliosis ? Will my daughter ever walk , run , balance ever again ??

My daughter almost 4 was diagnosed at 6 weeks old. She walked crawled sat but all of it was a little late :D Keep your head up my daughter is now in her 6th mehta cast and make sure the orthopaedic you have is open to treatment options Ive been to 3 doctors the first one I loved but my husband got stationed in arizona and the second one I hated he undid everything we have worked so hard on for my daughter he was pushing for surgery bc her braces werent working (she has progressive scoliosis) and now we are seeing an awesome doctor in phoenix and he has done 2 of my daughter casts and I absolutely love him. HE is with me on the same page as far as treament and not pushing for surgery even though we know she will have to have it. SO just make sure you always ask questions and there is a couple of groups on facebook. Infantile scoliosis and scoliosis parents support. Both are wonderful places to get information. My daughters curve is in the very high 80s and with her newest cast (mind you in a cast) her curve is to 34 degrees. Good luck on your journey and remember ask questions :D

My son now 18 has scoliosis and it has never stopped him from doing anything. The scoliosis also caused him to have a sunken chest which at first at school he was concious of but now he uses it to his advantage and uses it as a party peice!
I think the question is how severe your daughter scoliosis is. My sons back is slightly curved at the bottom but he can stand up straight, The problem he had was his spine sticks out further than a normal childs so he was constantly getting grazes on his back or it was uncomfortable for him to lye on a hard floor or carpet to watch tv and stuff.
My advice to you is make sure you get a second opinion on any treatment you are considereing. I can give you an example of this....One consultant told me that my 2.5 year old son would not live to be 10 because of his scoliosis and sunken chest. He told me that his heart would have no where to grow to and that his life would be cut short. I was devastated! I moved house about a year later and came under a new consultant who told me that there was nothing wrong with my son and that he would lead a normal life. The scoliosis and the sunken chest would always be there but it would not get any worse. I tell you I could of kissed that consultant!
Just get the facts checked out by another consultant.
