My 8 year old daughter has been through the ringer as far as being diagnosed with different disabilities. She didn't quite meet all of the autism spectrum red flags. Her teacher wanted her diagnosed as mentally retarded. And another specialist said it was PDD-NOS. Now at the age of 8 she has Mixed Expressive Receptive Language Disorder. It took her longer to talk, she has always suffered with ear problems. She has alot of speech therapy at school and outside from school. I see some progress with her verbal skills along with her social skills and educational abilities. I have tried to research this condition and would love to be able to speak with anyone that has a child with the same thing. I don't understand what the causes are, and what it will be like for her as an adult. Anyone that can offer any sort of info and support for me and my little girl would be a true blessing.
