Here in the US it is summer,and my kids are off,but they will be going back soon...
I thought it would be helpful to have a group that specifically addresses school issues.
(and I can not find a community on COM that is SPED specific)
SO,I started a community for children with special needs and school.
With IEP's,504's,BIP and HCP it can get overwhelming at times

It would be nice to post SPED resources and transition ideas for when school does start,and when it starts I know I will need somewhere to vent...lol

We are in Colorado.We live in a small ish town and the school here has at times be very hard to deal with.It is not right that as a parent I have had to spend hours and hours reading hundreds of boring laws,just to get the school to do what they know they are required to do.
~Sylvia what issues are you having with transportation?
~Michelle-my youngest son has classic autism(non-verbal),type 1 diabetes,SPD,MR,hypotonia,seizures,SIB...etc
My oldest has Aspergers and ODD,ADD

Hello! I agree, that would be most helpful. We are in California. Where if i can ask are u? My son is 9yrs old and has Autism. We have him in the public school system. Which sadly is very inadequate. We started summer school this past Monday. Which helps with the summer situation and retaining what he's learned in the past year. So still trying convince myself and my son. That summer school is a good thing with the small SPED options and transpo problems. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Hi, I would be interested in sharing ideas about school and those IEP's. My daughter has SPD and dyspraxia. May I ask what you are dealing with with your child?
