We drill and drill, flashcards, written, we use the "9" tricks...but can't seem to become fluent in these skills... It is memory and processing... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Char!

Thomas is in 4th grade and has structural and developmental issues with his eyes, he also has trouble with processing and memory, among various other things. I do have experience with the touch math for addition and subtraction....had not really thought about it with Multiplication/Division... I will look into it. The more I observe, the more I think it is the retrieval of steps from memory. Maybe the key is more concrete before abstract though! I appreciate your help! Take care!

Not sure of your childs age. My son is doing addition and subtraction using the touch math system. It gives a visual on each number to help for retention. My son has short term memory problems along with adsence siezures so math is really hard for him. Touch math has been wonderful for him. Hope this helps. God BLess
