One of the mums in another group gave me the details of a great resource for any of you who are interested -

Handbook for Language and Literacy Development - A Roadmap from 0 to 60 Months - An online resource which provides evidence-based information on a child’s language and literacy development from infancy until 60 months of age. http://www.theroadmap.ca/

I have also found another resource which may also provide some assistance -

Free Multi-Language Resource Material for Parents - offering parent handouts and video presentations for preschool children and their parents to encourage early language and literacy development. Some materials are also available in Somali, Spanish, Vietnamese and Korean.

I hope some of you find these links as useful as I have.

Please feel free to add posts to the thread if you also locate any useful resources or information.

Please also have a look at the conversation titled 'childrens books' as it has a fantastic website link to the International Children's Digital Library.

Nice links thank you so very much......just one question how do you count the words if the child is bilingual? Do you count the 'same' (meaning wise) word in both as one or would it be two????
