Just wanted to know if anyone out there has a child that they have given stem cells for CP and what the effects were and if you recommend doing it or not. I would love to hear stories.

I have taken my child for stem cell treatments 3x. Although Ava is extremely rare in her condition. She has made progress. And so have several others who had had the treatment for CP specifically from severe to mild. I give it a 100% yes IF you go to the RIGHT DOCTOR!! Let me know if you want to discuss this further..

do not go for stem cell therapy,as the work is under research,wait for a few years till a generalized form of SCT comes in practice.i have visited many hospitals for the same.thanks..............

Stem cell therapy is still in the early stages. I have been in contact with a Doctor at Duke University that is using stem cells taken from cord blood and giving them back to the child through IV. They have had seen some positive effects but can't promise anything and are very cautious. We are hoping to have our 2 year old son enrolled in a study that they are starting soon but do not know if he will qualify. You might also want to check out the Xcell center in Germany. They have been doing some work with stem cells taken out of the persons hip bone. The claim to see improvements in 60% of the cases. One thing that we have been cautioned on by our own neurologist is that with stem cell treatments from Russia, China, Turkey, etc. there have been cases where people have developed brain tumours.

I have not heard anything about Stem Cell, but I have used a lot of alternative modalities when working with my son Aidan and have had great results!
