I've been learning how to decorate cakes with fondant. It's hard, but it's really fun. Anyways, while looking for ideas for a baby shower cake I came across this cake:

How would you like that for a baby shower cake? lol

The pubic hair looks like chocolate sprinkles so I'll take your share Gillian.

Wow, Erin. That one's pretty crazy too. I think I would feel weird making one of these cakes. That's a good point, Gillian. I can see that conversation now, "who wants the left breast?" "I'll take the vagina!"

I just don't think I could eat a cake that had a vagina and pubic hair.

I find the second one a bit creepy for some reason.

I've never heard of anyone having a baby shower in the UK, I wouldn't be surprised if eventually it gets picked up like trick or treating and proms - none of which used to be very big over here but have now started to take off. When I left work with my first pregnancy they gave me a winnie the pooh cup bowl and plate set and that was it, I arranged a lunch out with a couple of the other girls but no party. My friends bought me a couple of things once the baby was born - just little things like a toy or an outfit - family was the same. With subsiquent pregnancies I got hardly any gifts at all. It's not that I'm greedy and want a lot of stuff it's more the sharing in the excitement of it all that appeals to me - it's such a special thing being pregnant and having a baby - a whole new life is comming into the world and I think it's lovely that people all get together and have a party about it - that's what I would have loved.

I'm so jealous, we don't have baby showers in the UK, the thought of everyone getting together and having a party to celebrate and all buying presents for the baby sounds so great. By the time I had my fourth no one was bothered and the only person that bought a gift was my mum. If I had a shower it would have made it so much more special. Not sure I would ever have had that cake at any of them but would find it funny if someone else did.

I would have thought it was funny if it were someone else's baby shower, but would have died of embarrassment if it were at my own hehe.

It's very... encouraging! lol. I think the people at my baby shower would've been ok with it. My mom would love it! She's been an OB nurse for almost 30 years.

It's very funny! But I guess it would depend on who the guests were at the party. I would be all for it!!

That is hilarious! Personally, I would LOVE to have a cake like that, but my guests probably wouldn't appreciate it too much!

Kati, we had penis brownies at my bachelorette party. But I would be horrified if I was at my MOM's party with penis cake!
