Going on vacation with my 7 month old

If you will be with family, don't pack too much. You can wash clothes at their house. Same with diapers and wipes. Pack what you need for the plane/car ride and buy more as you need them.
Keep routines as similar to home as you can. But if it doesn't work, just go with the flow.
Make sure you pack any and all comfort items.
Bring snacks. If there is something special your son eats, either bring it, or prepare to buy it when you get there.
HAVE FUN!! Babies adjust easily. So don't stress too much. If you are calm, he will be too!
A lot of my advice depends on how you are doing your traveling. By airplane? By car? By train? If you're traveling by car then you have way more options for making everything smoother (including being able to bring a pack-n-play as a portable bed, how many toys you can bring, etc.). Traveling via airplane and train usually limits the amount of stuff you can bring, but I remember one trick my mom always did. When we all got seated on the plane she would give each of us (my 2 siblings and I) a new backpack full of stuff just for us to play with. Mine always held some new books and a coloring book with brand new crayons, my sister's always had some new tapes (for her cassette player) and a couple books, and my borther's always had a new game and some pens and paper. It always kept us busy and, because they were new things to us, were enough to keep us happy for the whole trip.
Good luck and have fun! :)

By car. I guess that does make a big difference. We are staying with family, but we will have two different nights in a hotel so I will have my pack and play.
I am kinda worried about bed bugs, but I will just have to check when we get there.
