This year it falls on a Saturday and so far he's not working. Hopefully we can ditch the kids for the whole day

My hubby was on afternoon shift so didn't finish work til late. We had plans to go to a friends bday party the next day so we were at my in laws. He came home early and we went into the city, had pancakes and then a walk round Sydney harbour.

Left our son with his grandparents and went for dinner at an adult restaurant and then a walk around a park.

I think in 17 years we have spent 2 anniversaries together. One time we got to go to dinner and the other I was in preterm labor.

I pumped a bunch of milk and we left the kids with my parents. Then we spent the day in a small touristy town in Mississippi and toured a plantation home and ate at a fancy restaurant.

Our last anniversary was our first anniversary! My mom took my son for the weekend, and we got Jason's parents to watch our daughter long enough for us to go out to dinner. Unfortunately, anything over 2 hours is too much for them, so we spent the rest of the evening dealing with a somewhat cranky 5-month-old. I watched the (New Year's) ball drop by myself, because Jason had to work early the next day. Fun, fun, fun... I am hoping for a MUCH better anniversary this year.
