Both times happy, over the moon excited etc etc etc oh and a little frightened!

only 14lbs

With Jessica Wotsits! Nothing with Oliver

7. Did you find out the gender of your first child? Why or why not?
No if you were meant to know you would! Plus i would have gone mad and got everything pink/blue and spent so much money. I only purchased the essentials and went a little mad once they both arrived, partly because i knew what sex they were and partly as they were both too big for the new born clothes!

8. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy?
None apart from the fact there was not enough wotsits!

9. How much did your first child weigh?
8lbs 10oz

14 days late

11. What is the most difficult challenge or health issue that any of your children have faced?
My son has a lazy larynx (which is not a fatal or life threatening thing) just when i first heard it thought he was chocking to death! But its pretty much not a lazy one any more. It is very common apparently!

12. What's your favorite part of being a mom?
All of it can't pick one thing!

13. Do you think it's easier to be a mom or a dad?
Dad! Although i am very lucky Matt pitches in a lot, but the balance of it falls to me!

14. What is the best piece of advice you could give to someone who is about to have their first child?
Listen to advice, but make your own way. Everyone has an opinion not all of them match yours! Follow your gut!

15. Did you always think you'd have kids?
Yes

16. What's been the biggest surprise about motherhood?
How much i am inspired by my children

17. Are there things you miss about life before kids?
No, well maybe sleep!

18. How many children do you have?
2

19. Do you plan to have any more children?
I would like 2 more (4 in total) my husband is not so sure! But if we stay financially as we are we will not have any more.

20. Who's the mom that you admire most?
My mum. She did not always get it right, she never got it very wrong though! She put us first until we had left home. She managed on her own for a long time.

1. How old were you when your first child was born?

22

2. What month and year was your youngest child born?

January 2000

3. How did you feel when you first found out you were pregnant?

Excited and frightened at the same time!!

4. Who did you tell first?

I told my friends I was felling sick and had aches in various places and they told me I was pregnant!! With the others it was my husband.

5. How many pounds did you gain during your first pregnancy?

Hardly anything - I got my jeans back on 4 weeks after having Joseph. With the others I've slowly added weight that I'm trying to get rid of now I decided I'm not having any more.

6. What did you crave while you were pregnant?

Sweet things - I don't normally have a sweet tooth at all. I really hated coffee which was a problem as its about the only thing I drink.

7. Did you find out the gender of your first child? Why or why not?

No - didn't with any of them. I liked not knowing till they were born.

8. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy?

No - was very lucky. Can't call it a complication but have short labours (2-3 hours) which I wasn't expecting first time round and only just got to the hospital before Joseph was born.

9. How much did your first child weigh?

7lb 7oz

10. Was your first child early, late, or on time?

3 days late - it felt like three weeks!!

11. What is the most difficult challenge or health issue that any of your children have faced?

Nothing really - Joseph had 'funny eyes' at one point that meant he had double vision and looked liked he had a terrible squint. It would only last an hour or so and the hospital could never find out why it happened. Its stopped now so we'll never know.

12. What's your favourite part of being a mum?

Cuddles.

13. Do you think it's easier to be a mum or a dad?

Neither - I think both are hard work and am really lucky that I have a supportive husband.

14. What is the best piece of advice you could give to someone who is about to have their first child?

Enjoy it!! When you feel like sleeping or resting put your feet up. Once you are on your second child you're just expected to get on with it!! Ask people you admire for advice but if you don't like it remember you don't have to follow it.

15. Did you always think you'd have kids?

Yes

16. What's been the biggest surprise about motherhood?

How much love I have for my children

17. Are there things you miss about life before kids?

Yes - being able to pick up my keys and just leave the house - getting out of bed and being ready for work in 10 minutes - deciding to something on the spur of the moment - sitting in pubs and not thinking about what time we told the babysitter we'd be back ...

18. How many children do you have?

4 - Joseph (9), Hannah (7), Samuel (3) and Martha (1).

19. Do you plan to have any more children?

No - but my husband recently told me he'd like 6!! I told him he'd have to find someone else to have the last 2 with!

20. Who's the mum that you admire most?

I'd have to say my own - she had 8 children and we grew up to all be decent people - also my brother died when he was 5 (cancer) and she managed to get up in the morning and feed and dress the others. I can't ever imagine the pain she felt and simply for that she amazes me.
