Hi, have you tried contacting the Child Health clinics for existing mothers' groups? They might be able to get you in touch with a group in your area and your son's age group! I don't like Child Health nurses but the mothers groups they organize are great. Mine was a life-saver!

Hi Melissa,

Unfortunately I'm on the complete opposite side of town to you! Have you checked with your local child health nurse (or even the local chemist) about whether they know of any playgroups or mothers groups in the area? If you're breastfeedng, the ABA also has an extensive network of meetings and groups - I think there's some info on their website about them. The local libraries are also a good place to check - sometimes they have meetings rooms available for groups, or even just hang out in the kiddies area for a while and see if there are other mums with babes of a similar age. I also met a lot of new mums when I ook my daughter to swimming lessons at the local pool.
