My son, now 8 (OMG can't believe he's that old!!), who is not listening to anything I say. And has even started talking back. WHAT DO I DO????? seems like everything i try is back firing... any suggestions???

I have 4 boys (10,8,6 and 3) and am due in may with a girl so I resorted back to the rather "humilating" back-to-bed for a "time out"...it was used when they were smaller (and still worked wonders on our 3year old) as they got older we took away stuff/grounded them...now they have to go hop into bed (door open) or to a corner no toys/books/equipment and sit quietly for however old they are in minutes (ie 8year sits for 8minutes) before they are allowed to play they have to apologise for wrong behaviour and explain why it was wrong
Or if that fails my husband (whose father was inthe miltary and used to use this one) makes them write 10lines - for example if it was back-chatting it would be "Backchatting is rude and I will respect my parents"...

my daughter Audrey who is also 8- lovely age. does that and I take things away like her mp3 player and privliges. time outs. i dont put up with it. i have a 4 yr old who would love to follow in Audreys steps.
