41 year old mum and grandma!

Nice to meet you Julia,
My name is Ellie I live in California, I am 48 years old. I have two daughters Januari who is 30 years old and is in the air national guard she has been in for twelve years now. And she just recently gave birth to a beautiful boy, Liam Richard. Although all her little life she has sworn never to have children, apparently the closer thirty was coming around the more she figured she better make a choice or it would be to late for her.
But I am so glad she did, I am so in love with my lil guy.

My other daughter Jolene is 28 and would love to have a family, but has not found the right man. She interprets for the San Bernardino School dist. Working with the deaf and with children of all special needs. She finished her B.A. at Cal. Baptist University, but her main goal is to continue and get her Masters in Psychology.
Her desire is to work in a Indian Reservation with children.
She just recently applied for a job in Washington State. And had to fly out for a few test and interview. It sounded promising, they really liked her. I pray she gets it.

Congratulations on your engagement!! the second time around for me was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. We just had our 14th anniversary October 14th. We have known each other since first grade. He is awesome. We are a lot smarter at 40.

Hi Julie ,

My name is Trish Roark. I live in Gray , Tennessee. I have lived in Tennesee all my life. I also have older adult children. My sons are 21 and 24. My oldest has a daughter , Madison , who is 3. She is my sweetheart. He is back home , due to marital problems. My other son , is still at home. I don't really look for them to move out anytime soon , but of course , it doesn't bother me that they are still here. I had some medical problems last year. i am finally starting to recover from them. It has been a long and hard journey. I am fighting Breast Cancer. Luckily everything looks good far. I am just thankful that I have my family to support me. They have been wonderful.

Enough about me.... So , Congrats on the Engagement !!!! You will have to keep me posted , and send pictures , please. A wedding is no good without pictures , you know......lol I don't really have any friends with older kids either. You can write me at anytime. I love talking to people. I really love meeting new people , so keep in touch.

Hi Julia, my name is Melissa Cochran and I live in Albertville, Al. I am 43 years old and I have a son who will be 23 in December. He is currently in the Army and stationed at Ft Campbell Kentucky. He returned from Aphganistan in January and will be going back in February. This has been the hardest thing to ever happen to me in my life. He's my only baby and I have been scared to death. He was gone for 17 monthes and they were the longest monthes I've ever had. I was married to his dad for 15 years and we divorced when he was 13. I only thought that was a nightmare. I have since remarried to a wonderful man and we've been together 8 years but have only been married for 4. He has 2 great kids ages 24 and 21. He's 12 years older than me but he's really and truly is my soulmate. His son, the 24 yr old has a little girl age 4. They live with us, as he and his wife divorced when she was 1. She has a drug problem and he got full custody and this is an ongoing battle daily. She wants to have unsupervised visitation and he won't agree to it untill she goes through some sort of drug rehab. The courts told her that was to only way to get it. She sometimes goes weeks and weeks without seeing her baby and then suddenly comes up trying to be mother of the year. They have lived with us since Caroline was 1 1/2 and it really feels like she's my baby. Her dad works 3rd shift and her poppy and I take care of her most of the time. We get her to school everyday and go get her, prepare supper, give her a bath, work on homework if she has any, and get her to bed. Its like I've started all over again at the age of 43. I'm so like you, all my friends have small children and grandkids are way in their future. I'm not complaining because I love her soo much and would give my life for her, but it is harder now than I remember it being 23 yrs ago. It was nice to be able to get all this out to someone who might half way understand, I hope it was nice for you also. If you'd like, I'd love to keep in touch.
