I am a Grandmom of one and another just days away. I have been going through some of the posts on different topics and just want to say

what is on my mind. I am proud to be a Grandparent and will tell anybody willing to listen, I am called Mama by my Granddaughter and absolutely love it. I have had other little children call me Grandma and have no problem with that. A Lot of people say I look too young to be a Grandma, I will be 50 this year. I am proud to say that and am looking forward to 50. I am also a mother of 2 beautiful daughters and a wife of 26 years to a wonderful man. I take pride in this and, again, will tell anyone willing to listen. I love being with my family and take a lot of time to plan special dinners for them just because I love them.

I believe families are forever and will keep doing what I do to spend time with my wonderful family. And, will continue to do so until I can't anymore. Oh and I do plan on living til I'm 100. It's a big goal, but, I am up for the challenge.

Thanks for reading the ramblings of a Grammy!!!

Hello everyone. My husband and I had our two Grandchildren overnight Friday. We had a wonderful time with them. Our Granddaughter is now 21/2 and is developing so fast. She can really communicate what shes feeling and what she wants. It's so amazing to watch her grow up. And, I am so pleased at how close I feel toward her. I feel close to our Grandson as well and am really loving watching him grow. He is only 13 weeks old but he is already trying to roll over onto his tummy and then back again. His smile lights up not only my heart, by my husbands heart as well. I can't wait to have him running around getting into everything.

What a wonderful world our Grandchildren show us. Their learning capabilities and loving ways get to me so much. I don't agree with those who say "they wish they had had their grandchildren first". I'm grateful for our two wonderful daughters and the lives they are living now. One is a mom of two and planning her wedding and the other has just turned 20 and is a car nut and will be driving in her first demolition derby this weekend. With the help of her boyfriend, they have gotten her derby car ready. I'm a bit anxious about it, but, her Dad and I have promised to be there to see her drive in her first derby. I am so proud of both our girls. They have both grown into very amazing young women. Now, we have our two Grandbabies. What more can I ask for.

Well, it has been a while since I rambled. So, here goes!!!!

I am proud to say that on March 11 at 1:00am my Grandson, Zackery, was born. My daughter and her man were amazing. She had a doula involved and I will say anyone who is pregnant should try for a doula. Some you can get while they are taking their course and you can get for free or next to no charge, However, in my opinion, having a doula is well worth what you can pay for. Angela was wonderful. She and my daughter and fiance' clicked and the whole birth experience was relaxed and joyful. I was able to stay in the ldr with them, but, I just sat back and watched from a chair. I did watch as Zackery came into the world though. Angela, bless her, even came to me with tears in her eyes to match mine and we hugged each other in companionship. I am very grateful to her, Her guidance and spirit were everything to us. She kept my daughter in focus and never left her side. My daughters' fiance' was amazing as well, he was at my daughters' side the whole time as well. At one point, between contractions, my daughter and fiance' were on the bed sitting and the love I could see pass between them was something that I felt so privaliged to witness.

For those who have been blessed with being at a grandchilds' birth, I say wow!! For those who haven't experienced it, I say, if you can, go for it. It's one of the most amazing experiences you will ever have. I feel closer to my daughter, her fiance' and their children because of being at thier births.

Until next time, Grandmas!!!!!!!

I too am blessed with the miracle of having a 2.5 yo grandson. I tell people all the time that if I knew how amazing grandkids were I would've skipped kids and had grandiose instead. I currently have custody of him for multiple complicated reasons, so being a single mom of 16 yo girl (still at home) and a 21 yo son (in jail) starting over raising a toddler can be trying at times. My grandson is my pride and joy, he calls me Mama and since I'm only 43 most people assume he's my son... I quickly and proudly inform them he is my grandson. We are fortunate to have 5 generations in our family and his great great grandparents see him several times a week andi swear he keeps them young too.

Yesterday, my husband and I went to a local mall. We decided to call our daughter and her family to join us in walking in the mall and just spending time together. When they got there, I held our Grandboy while we walked and just couldn't help but have a huge grin on my face. I love to hear the comments from other people as they walked by. I am so proud to be a Grammy I can't stand it. I loved watching our 2 year old Grandgirl run and play as we walked and answered her as she called to me, "Mama".

Loral, I too am a grandmother and absolutely love it! I have two grandchildren, ages 7 & 2, (both soon to be experiencing birthdays!) Both my grandchildren call me Nana. Actually, many people now call me Nana! Who knew that when you become a grandmother, your name changes too!? :D

I will be 52 this year and agree the 50's are worth looking forward too! I was a single parent and am proud to say this. It was never easy, but whoever said that life would be easy! lol! Life is what we make of it!

I have one daughter, 27 and with her two beautiful children, I have been blessed many times over. So, again I relate to your statement "I believe families are forever and will keep doing what I do to spend time with my wonderful family." I cherish each moment, each conversation, each accomplishment - whether menial or tremendous, of my grand-babies! The first tooth, first step, first word, first A, being a good friend, being a good sibling, etc... nothing is greater than being there to applaud and encourage those wonderful little accomplishments!

Thanks for sharing your "ramblings", (as you put it! :D), and thanks for reading mine!

Today I am sitting here with my Husband and my daughter, her fiance, their daughter and now our newest addition, our new Grandson. What a wonderful feeling. The love I feel for these two Grandbabies is so immense that I can't describe it. I watched intensely as my daughter labored for 3 hours and pushed our little Grandson out in 5 minutes. What a wonderful sight. I am truly blessed to have witnessed this wonderous thing a woman can do. I am a blessed Grandmom to have these two beautiful Grandbabies. I love to watch our 2 year old Granddaughter as she tries so hard to accept her new brother. It's so hard for her to share everyone she loves with her new brother, but, she's doing well as we all show her how to share. Watching children change from an infant to a toddler to older child, is so amazing. I love every moment with these babies. Even the temper tantrums and poopy diapers, I love it all.

As I am typing this, I am waiting to hear from my daughter if she is finally in labor. I am so excited for her and her man that sometimes it's all I can do to not jump up and scream WoooooHooo. It's hard to wait for that certain phone call.

I remember when I was pregnant with both my girls. How the time really flew by. It seemed like one day I was given confirmation of my pregnancies and then all of a sudden, I had two wonderful little girls. I loved being pregnant and had wonderful pregnancies. Our first daughter was born by c-section and was a healthy 5lb 12 oz baby.

Our second daughter was born v-bac and was a healthy 6lbs. Both girls were a week late. I was so happy. I love seeing my daughter pregnant and sharing everything that is happening with her. I can't (but can) wait for when my youngest daughter and her man decide to have a baby. She, too, will be a wonderful mommy.

Well, it looks like I'm starting to be a regular Grammy sharing her feelings on here. I appreciate your comments and any stories you might want to share as well.

One more story from a Grandmoms feelings!!
