I find so much via the Internet - you might be able to find a Grandparent support groupin your area. I find that therapy works too although it takes a lot of time and effort. It can be very difficult but in my case it has been effective. There is help out there but it can be difficult to find but be tenacious...it will be worth the effort.

I am so glad I read your post! I have guardianship of my three grandbabies; oldest is 12 going on 13, 7 and 5! I have had them everyday for the last two years. The oldest is a male and challenges me everyday. Has no respect for me or other adults. The middle child is BD and takes meds - the kinder is pretty rough, but can be saved. I need to find a group here in my area, somedays I don't think I am going to make it and then the next day comes and I realize I made it through another day.

I will look at "Grandparents Raising Grandkids" website too as I have two - 4 & 5 - did not expect to be raising kids again. I cannot remember being so busy but at least I am better prepared and more patient that I was with their father when he was young. I need all the help I can get.

I am raising my grandtwins (age 2). My kids are 20 and 18. I guess I'm starting over. My daughter has fallen out of the picture and now I am their only chance. I'm frustrated, but yet happy to know they are with me and safe. It's tough thinking I am going to go through raising kids all over again.... but day by day I feel a little better about it.

My daughter and her family live with me. So I am helping raise her 2 year old twin girls. My daughter recently started back to school and now she needs even more help with the girls. But they are a real joy.

hi I have 4 girls,21,19,17,14. The two older moms were 18 and 16 when they had their children. Everyone still lives at home and I look after the grandkids while their moms are at school. While I am not technically raising these children I am very much helping raise them as my girls are still pretty young

I've been raising my grandson, Joseph James Robert (JJ) since the day he was born. He has behavioral problems. I've had to deal with a lot over the past 9 years. Some days he really tries my patience, but other days he makes up for it. I belong to the local Grandparents raising Grandchildren where I live. It helps to have other grandparents to talk to. Good Luck.
