I am 42, have a 15 month old daughter and take care of my mom who lives with us. My daughter is and angel and hardly any trouble at all. However my mom is 70, morbidly obese and has has 3 strokes and myriad health problems. I sometimes feel like screaming because she makes so much extra work for me. Today, I cleaned up a broken glass of water mom dropped, soiled incontinence diapers the dog shredded and a cola that she dropped on tile floors that had just been professionally cleaned. I was wondering if anyone out there is living a similar situation. I really need someone to talk to.
Thanks,
Cricket

I'm new to this, but I can relate to taking care of an elderly grandmother. I was the only single female in our family so I was asked to move in with my grandmother whom I love to this day dearly..but she is on the very much 'high maintaince' list. plus I had two boys one with ADD. So we spent $30,000 dollars to redo her basement into an 'apartment', (right) witch she proceeded to go thru my mail, that was in my room, my boys were older so they did help alot, but I couldn't disipline them the way I saw fit, it was done with grandma looking over. there's more but I won't bore you with all the gorey details till later. but I am glad I did it, would I do it again knowing what I know now, yes, but alot of things would have been very different, it is not fair that one member of the family take on the majority of the responsibiltiy, but seems to be the consenus. so any time you wanna vent, holler...mabe I can help. take care.
