After 17 years and 1 child, I fell pregnant again. What a surprise that was! Has anyone else been in that situation and if so, how was it for you????

I have a daughter age 22 and a son age 20 and a bouncing baby boy at 3 and a half. He keeps me young and makes me feel old all at the same time. It was definitely different the last time around. The pregnancy was a little bit harder (I suspect I may be getting old...lol). My son is the light in my day and the joy in my heart. I love all my children with all my heart, but, perhaps because of my age (I just turned 42), my babybug is just so precious to me. I was terrified at first. The reality turned out to be that my youngest bouncing boy was the best and most precious gift I have ever had.

Hi Julie,
I have 2 boys that are 18 years apart. 1 is 31 and in the National Guard and the other is 13 and is in the 7th grade. The difference for me, was that when I had the first one, I took everything for granted, and I wish I could do it over again. I learned to appreciate everything they do at every stage of their growing years with my second one. I feel I cheated my first one out of the special attention I should have given him. Fortunately for me, he is an awesome guy and still loves me anyway. Good luck to you, and just be sure to savor every moment with your children, you will never get that time back again, when it's gone...it's gone!
