I can relate. I am 42 yrs old and I have a 17 yr old Sr, a 15 yr old Soph, a 12 yr old 6th grader and a 4 month old. Oldest two are boys - youngest 2 are girls. I've already been thinking how sad it is that the youngest daughter will basically grow up as an only child, but I am so thankful for her. Life is different now - super busy, but at the same time I am a more relaxed mom I think. Plus the extra help is fabulous. I call her an unexpected blessing.

Try being 47 with a 6 year old daughter, and two sons that are 25 and one just turned 21 this month. I've had a lot of people think my daughter is my granddaughter but boy do they feel like an idiot when I tell them she's my daughter. Did I mean it to happen? No but I finally have a little girl that I've always wanted and I feel like even though I was to old to have my third angel I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I know what you mean... People tell me I have two families... the older one and the younger one... I see it as one but I am so thankful for the chance to get to raise two more little ones. they are 5 and 7 and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. There is nothing more precious than being able to raise a child.
