Easiest way to help our 7 yr. old daughter transition elementary schools?

We're planning to sign her up with the community "summer Recreation Program", hoping it will help her to meet other girls who will be in her class next year. Any other ideas? THANK YOU - MUCH:)

When she meets some of the kids this summer try to have them get together to hang out. Going to the local library and parks to hang out and approach other moms with kids may also help her meet some kids.
