You know now that you mention it, in the stated of NJ it is up to six kids. My bsitter is WONDERFUL and truely God granted. She makes a sizable income on watching kiddos in her home. If you are up to it, do it BUT do research. It can be a AWESOME thing BUT as my bsitter had to do, she had to set guidelines down sooo her homelife would not be disrupted! Good luck and GREAt suggestion!

You can also take in 2 kids without a license which would also give you a nice income just to get buy without you having to pay daycare fees yourself. Hope that helps.

When my 9 year old was born I opened an in-home-licensed day care. The money was great & so were MOST of my clients :) LOL I was able to receive numerous grants to purchase toys, equipment ect...

Just be VERY careful with these stay at home things. Did you work prrior to kiddos? I know that things are tight all over the US BUT if you focus on your strengths you might be able to find something in your prior field> Good luck!

Hi Janet,
I'm not a stay-at-home Mom myself. I have a full time job as a secretary and then what I call my "fun job". I do home clothing parties for Jockey Person to Person (yes, if you're thinking Jockey underwear you're with the right company!). We just started in Canada in October 2008. It's home parties for women's clothes, sizes XS to 3X. The best part? You set your own hours, you can do as many parties as you want or are able to do. Myself, with my schedule, I usually do one party a week and it's my "night out". I enjoy being with a bunch of ladies and doing some home shopping. Party usually lasts for 2 to 3 hours and there's always lots of laughter. Starter kit is reasonably priced at $199, commission is 25% with possibilities of bonus. If you're interested let me know, my number is 807-223-7793 or you can email me at corrinegadd@hotmail.com.
Good luck, hope you find something that suits your needs!

Hi, I'm not sure about work from home, but what I did to make a little money was sell all the clothes as my son grew out of them and toys, cloth nappies, baby goods, maternity clothes etc. on Ebay. It brought a little extra cash into the home.
Cheers, Dianne

Hi Heather, I am a stay at home mom of 2 girls and have been home now for allmost 6 years. I truely believe that you can stay at home even if you are not working from home. My husband was in sales when we started this journey and there were times he brought home $30.00 for an entire pay period. You just have to prioritize what you spend your money on. Your job as a mom at home is to ensure you are saving money wherever and whenever you can. Take a look at what you and your husband are spending money on and trim trim trim. We go out to dinner only once a month. I do meal planning so I only buy what I need to make the menu I have decided on for the month. YOU CAN DO IT!

Hi Janet, I started a medical transcription service from home when I was pregnant with my 4 year old, and just had another baby boy 10 months ago. If you can type, then you could do medical transcription and it pays by production so you can make your own work schedule.

Hi Janet,
Wow, I'm sure you're going to be getting quite a few responses to that question! A home based business found me, a little over 3 years ago. It's called Arbonne International. I wasn't looking for something, but the products were so amazing I sort of fell into it. I have acheived great success with the company. It's a very stable, solid and GROWING company with international opportunities as well; including Australia which we just opened last year.
If you have any concerns with pure, safe and beneficial products- this may be something you may be interested in. My website is www.beneficial4life.arbonne.com
I have 4 children ages 4-13. I left the corporate world when my fourth child was born. My biography is on the Arbonne.com website under company/arbonne success stories/Lisa Correti.
Contact me if you'd like to find out more and I'd be happy to share with you.
Best of luck! I'm sure you'll find a something to fit your family's needs!
Warmly,
Lisa

Hey I never thought I could find a job with kids too. However, if you put your child in a mom 's morning out at a church you could work while she's in a classroom with other 3 year olds. My kids went but I did not work. When they were p;der tehy had an add in the bullletinat church and it helps keep me sane. I actually have friends now.
