homeschool options, and how to get started?

I'm in need of a good option from a commute between NYC and Florida, our 2 girls are going into the 1st and 3rd grade and i am lost when it comes to the "how-tos" of homeschooling, I'm ready to do this and want the most economical and highest standard possible and available. Can anyone offer me good advise, a website, or share their experience to ease my wonder, I want to do this but I don't know where to begin.
