First, Alyne, I know how frightening it is when your child says things like this to you. My heart goes out to you, as I have been in your shoes with an older child. Second, take her seriously. She has moved from telling you she wants to kill herself to having some sort of a "plan" -- "knives in the kitchen." If you have a children's hospital near you, that is a good place to start. You can call them and describe the situation -- they can help you decide if you need to come in immediately or if you can make an appointment. They generally have a psychiatric department that is well equipped to deal with children. Finally, don't be afraid to get specific professional help. We went to our family doctor for 7 months without seeing any positive results -- things got worse. When we took our son to a psychiatrist, she knew exactly how to help and treat him and he was extremely relieved. Though it was still difficult, he was 100% better within 2 months. They can also help you because you need someone to vent to and confide in. Take care.

please get your child somekind of help call your family doctor let her know what she is saying she can hopefully point you in the right direction

Is probably mood disordered, possibly bipolar. which isn't something to mess with.

She must be evaluated by a pediatric psychiatrist.

At her age, she can't be counted on to "control" herself much.
Seek expert care.

definitely take her to a counselor asap. She had anger issues and needs to start controlling them ASAP. Dont worry, I am sure they are all words she is using to get her way. She just needs to be taught how to deal with her anger in an appropriate manner.

I agree with Michelle. When most people talk about ending their life they are really saying something like "There are conflicting thoughts going on in my mind and I don't know how to resolve them in a good way." Getting some outside help would be my first step too.

Alyne - SERIOUSLY - GET her to a counselor!!!! My son also went through a phase similar, although much of his outbursts were due to his father and I getting a "dissolution". It escalated through his pre-teen and teen years. He is doing much better now (18 yrs. old), but, ONLY because he had a wonderful counselor "(friend" - on the outside of the situation) to talk everything through with. If you do not have insurance for this - you can (I believe) call the "Job & Family Services" in your area and they SHOULD be able to direct you in the right direction. But.. PLEASE, do not wait. Your daughter needs an "outside" friend to talk with NOW. God Bless & Good luck:)
