Thanks Jeanne, I do feel like i did what i had to do for him, and he is so much happier and more reasonable to deal with since being on the meds.  Both of us are happier since getting him the help he desperately needed

Quoting Diane:

Hi my name is Diane, I am a mother to 2 boys. 1 is a sophmore in college, the other is a 4th grader. I just turned 49 March 11th.. My 9 yr old was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes june 18th 2008 and since being diagnosed has increasingly become more and more aggressive and hard to reason with. It was there before his diagnosis but becoming a diabetic intensified his aggression. I went to a mental health person who put him on zoloft and i feel like i have my child back. My husband was dead set against getting our son help so i had to go behind his back. He just found out and he's very angry. If i didn't get our son help, i would be put in a mental ward because i was having a hard time dealing with him. I asked my son how he felt after taking the meds, he said he doesn't feel the rage anymore. What do you think, did i do right?

Dear Diane

I think you did what you had to do for your son that's it / that's all and it is always the mother's that do all the dirty work...........our men will not do anything about it because it not them taking care of them have the time.............that's YOU did for your SON & YOU before you get sick..........husband don't understand.........also you talk to your son he even sees & feels the difference and that should be go enough..............sorry to be so harsh on your husband but it's true.........is it?

I hope this helps you feel better about your decision that YOU had to take, and get your SON the proper help that he needed!

Take care & keep in touch!
