Hi, I am a mom of a 17 year old daughter and a 9 year old son with a stepson of 28 who was 8 when I met his dad so he's like one of mine. We have recently moved to the UK from South Africa and enjoying it so far. My husband is British and lived in South Africa for 37 years. My stepson got married in April 2009 and lives near London. We decided to settle in Manchester as it is originally where my husband was born and is also not too far away from my parents-in-law in Lytham St Annes. My daughter, who I miss a lot, decided to finish her education in South Africa and lives with one of my sisters so I know she is well looked after.

Sounds like your life is full. I know you must miss your daughter, I am glad it is because she is finishing her education. So important. I have an 8 year old at home and two grown children 25 and 23. And two grandchildren 2 and one a week old. I live in the united states in california. Does your 9 year old play sports and computer games like mine. It sure keeps us busy. I thought at 49 I'd be traveling or at least coming and going as I please, but at 41 I had my last one, everyone thought I was crazy I do not regret it one bit, my 8 year old is a joy and he keeps me out of trouble. Well just wanted to say hello to the other side of the world and to an older mom like me.
