I am a 54 year old mom of 4 children ages 38, 33,19 and 14...my oldest will always be my special baby as she is deaf, blind, diabetic and has a chronic disorder called "gastro paresis." My 33 year old is a brittle diabetic and I am always worrying about her, my 19 year old is so focused on jiu jitsu she has set aside her (my) dream of becoming a graphic artist (for the time being anyway...I hope), My 14 year old will be entering high school next fall and just announced to me and my husband that he wants to go to a private all boys high school which will prepare him for a military college. I have potty trained, sat up nights, shed a few tears and still I survived the terrible two's, pre teen terror...I am looking forward to menopause

wow , you do not look 54 - seems like you had a rough time and made it threw . That is wonderful .. My 5th son was born with brain bleeding , swelling and seizures , they said he would be retarded , my chances like 95 retarded , anyway he came out of it perfect , after a few days everything changed , i was ready and for about a week i accepted that - i did'nt care as long as he lived .

He is perfect now , i had one more son after him he is 3 yrs old now , will be 4 this May - he was born at 36 weeks otherwise everything was fine . Now he was tongue-tied , we had that fixed , but he still can't talk ... It makes me so sad , he was going to speech , it helped a little , but in the lastt 9 months not much has changed ., They don't know why he is like this ??????

I do have to say you sound like a very strong person to go threw what you have ..

Hi Paulette, I am will be 54 in May. When I read your post it made any of the issues my husband and I have ever dealt with with our two daughters. Are you able to communicate with your oldest daughter? Does your 33 daughter  take care of herself? Sometimes our children do not always do what we think is the best, it sounds as though you are a very supportive mom. Were does you daughter take classes for her jiu jitsu? Would your son need to go out of state( if you live in the U.S.)? You sound like a very strong lady. I was a pleasure to respond to your post. I hope you will not be offended if I keep you in my Prayers. Have a great day.
