well, I have a 23 year old daughter, and an 18 year old daughter AND now have a 12.5 year old! I understand your feelings, but this too shall pass! What I found really interesting in raising my children is that where I never wanted to do ANYTHING with my parents, my kids like doing ANYTHING with me. They don't how ever want me to treat them like a 'friend' and I think that can be really embarrassing for them. Just talk to your daughter about the things she likes to talk about...go on drives together, find something you both like on the radio...channel surf and let her pick the shows...just little things like that will keep you close, just transitioning to a different area of your relationship. It can be a tough age, but you will get through it, don't let it get you down. Try and 'read' where your daughter leads you in activities and conversation, so she is comfortable and everything. God Bless, Yvonne
