Our son Bobby Jr. was diagnosed as having Spetcrum Autism. My hubby and I are over 40. I had Bobby when I was 41.I'm beginning to think--should women have babies who are over 40? I never regret having my" Bad-Bugger". At times,he gets a little tough to handle, but,we manage. Also,do you think that perhaps people who think that the government has something to do with all this ADHD,Autism by the vaccinations? Open for comments! Thanks!

My nephew has Asberger's and has been in the Air Force and recently got married. Relaxing and realizing his emotional limitations is the best thing you can do. I would also look for a homeopathic practitioner that practices classical homeopathy. Look here for someone in your area http://homeopathic.org/. There is also a book called "A Drug Free Approach to Asperger Syndrome and Autism" you should read. This will show you the amazing results someone can achieve with the right remedy. These are safe, effective and no untoward side effects. The Amish community does not even know what Autism is and only has one ADHD child that my Amish friends are aware of. This could be vaccines (I always think they are a part of the issue at least), also the electronics kids are exposed to are an issue. Even the wireless links in the house cause stress on the nervous system these kids are susceptible too. Microwave ovens also, they put out a huge electomagnetic field, even when off or unplugged for 2 days, because of a chip in them. Cordless phone charges (not the cell phone chargers) also affect them. They are very sensitive to all of these.

Many find going gluten, soy and dairy free a big help. This is hard to but if you try for a few days you will know if it works.
Unplugging for a few days and adjusting the diet is difficult but free and you will soon know if there is any difference. Then reintroduce one thing at a time and wait 4 days before you reintroduce another thing. Journal the behaviors and look for subtle as well as obvious changes.

Ok ay this is a two parter. First the age of parents is at this point the the issue. I am sure when you look back that you will know someone with this otherwise know as Asperger's. When I was growing up we referred to them as loners. So saying that, my brother if diagnosed today would be in the spectrum and my mother was 22 when she had my brother. Now there is my nephew 20 who just graduated college with his associates degree and my son 23 graduated with his associates degree. Heres the thing the reason it is a spectrum is they vary the 3 of them with their characteristics and yet there are some that are the same. My nephew was diagnosed when he was younger but my son not until 18 due to suffering viral encephalitis at 12 which interfered with the Aspergers.

Next, vaccinations - I personally don't think it has anything to do with it but just an excuse because we don't want anything wrong with our children, and here is why I say this. The research that is being done is finding genetics involved. Besides, how do you explain my family - what vaccinations did my 49 year old brother have? My son and my nephew did not even have all the same vaccinations.

It is challenging I promise you. How old is your son? I belong to a local support group which is very helpful even though my family are grown but it is a passion of mine, I am also a neonatal nurse and still find that school systems are not behind this diagnosis and will quickly label these children behavioral problems - why because they are mostly boys and I can understand why. Some have a hard time getting their point across and get frustrated and start to act out - but only for the frustration. My sister was a true full-time advocate for her son. By the time he got to high school if he felt frustrated about getting his feelings across he would go see the principle - who was a man and they would discuss the situation. It worked for him and I thank Mr. Hunt for that. My sons frustation - change in routine.
